Great photos, the similarity to some of the pools on the Galapagos islands is very interesting.

Seems like all the Opae ula are all white/clear. Last pic is a screenshot of them if you can spot them. More to come.

Why is it that they are all white? Some say the little red color is due to the fact that they don't eat algae produced by sunlight, but I don't think that's the problem here.

Yeah, surprised too.
This the biggest one and I didn’t see any in it or I was blind. Actually I thought they were all gone until you look closely at different spots in the smaller pools. It is not like in the Big Island where they are noticeable. So the numbers are low in these particular pools.

First I heard of your algae statement.

Assuming the water level rise and fall throughout the year. The 3rd and 4th pic shows where it can be high er.
