Anyone have any idea whether I can introduce assassins snails to my tank to rid the MTS (7 initially have grown to hundreds easily) I scooped them whether they are near the surface but they kept breeding. I have threw away at least 100 of them. Now I have a separate small plastic tank to dump them into . I read assassin snails live in freshwater and dont think it can survive in brackish

No I don’t think they can tolerate salt unfortunately, only thing you can do is just remove as many as you can and hope you get all the reproductive adults.

Biggest regret ever was having MTS in my tanks. The population is out of control and there noting I can do. I remove as much as I can but there a lot in there. Small tiny MTS.

It is possible. Takes time. I was able to get rid of them.

Another thing to consider is that if the population is out of control you are likely overfeeding your Opies. I know my MTS population goes crazy if I feed too often. I don't mind them in my opae ula tank but in the freshwater tank they are a pain, and my assassin snail leaves a trail of "bodies" around that doesn't look very nice either :dead:
