If you restrict light and feeding if wont grow anything like that! I'm not sure what happened to that guys tank :dead: :dead:

Edit: That's macro algae and not hair algae, you pretty much get the same result if you leave it to do its own thing though lol.

Edit2: The hair algae got introduced into my tank by the snails I purchased, so be aware of that if you decide to buy some snails.

I just tested the water and ammonia and nitrates and nitrites are all 0 .the nitrites and nitrates dropped overnight ,is this normal ? Through a magnifying glass I can see thousands of tiny specks moving in random circular motions could ,this be the good bacteria?

I'm not sure without seeing them but cloudy water usually arrives when the beneficial bacteria is starting to colonise in the tank. If you have zero ammonia, nitrites and either 0 up to 10 nitrates then it should be safe to add some life to the tank (snails and shrimps). If you start to get a small spike in ammonia or nitrites after adding living things you can always remove 20% of the water and replace it with a batch of fresh brackish water and do this daily until it all settles to 0ppm again.
