What do we try and keep them safe from? I may have a fry net-box thing somewhere around the house I could use. I'm very interested to hear all the advice you can give

Maybe not necessary for you and most people but I have a higher survival rate if I keep them separate for a month or so. Larvae should float around for a week or so but I noticed some would disappear in the past for me. Not sure if it is due to the hermit crabs which I highly doubt or the older ones attacking them which I never seen. I know others would see larvae disappear too. Do you hear this too?

I've read a lot about people loseing larvae, I'm not sure if they get preyed on, get hurt by other tank mates or just cant stand the current water conditions.

I've spotted a plastic cube with little holes in that looks great so I may experiment a little in the future when I've got more larvae to test things with.

Good thing for a cube (like the one you mentioned), you can see if the water condition is causing it. For me it wasn't the water because it survived in the my homemade container.

That cube looks nice. Can't tell but hopefully the holes or gaps are not big enough for them to escape. Do you have a link?

I bought it from Fishpark, they do a hang on and a sucker variant and I went with the sucker one. The brand is called 'Dake' they do different sizes too, I thought the holes looked nice and small and you can have the top poking out of the tanks water.

I got mine from here but they have them on eBay, Amazon and all the Far East reseller sites.

I see it now! I didn't when you first posted it as it's very subtle and hiding in the corner, looks pretty good to me. Do the larvae need access to the waters surface?

You can't tell but there is 3 inches of water surface (length wise) on top. The bottle is held up but the glass cover.

I would use a straw to suck up and release into the bottle. Like fishing.

In tank #03 all 3 larvae are still bobbing around happy, I also sprinkled some spurlina powder on the surface for the adults to eat.
